Grant Information

Welcome to the Grant Information Research Guide!

Use the tabs at the top to find more information about topics related to grants: proposal writing, federal grants, state grants, and private grants.  You can also refer to the Nonprofit Management Research Guide for additional information.  Students and individuals looking for grants to fund their education should visit the Scholarships and Grants for Education Research Guide.

When conducting grant research, it is important to read the guidelines and requirements carefully.  Grantmakers at every level tend to be very specific in terms of what they will and will not fund.  It is the responsibility of the applicant to follow all instructions carefully and contact the grantmaker, or in some cases a lawyer, if there any questions or clarification is required.  Also keep in mind that grantmaker guidelines and priorities may change, so always check to ensure you are using the most up-to-date information that you can find, even for grants that are awarded annually.
